Diamond Resorts International and The Point at Po’ipu Resort Squaring Off

Kauai, HI, October 20, 2009- Diamond Resorts International is engaged in a pissing match with owners at The Point at Poipu, who want a new management company. According to a series of articles in Kauai’s Garden Island newspaper, they object to many things DRI is doing as Management but the real problem may come down to money.

Maintenance fees under DRI have risen from $695 in 2001 to more than $1,400 per week in 2009. According to the newspaper, “Owners have been outspoken about their concerns regarding the elevated prices and feeling powerless when it comes to maintenance and management fees, as the majority of Vacation Owners Association and Association of Apartment Owners board members are employees of Diamond Resorts International.”

DRI denies all allegations, and lawsuits have been threatened by both sides of the argument.
