Are You On the List of "Deadbeat" Resorts/Travel Sites?

Grab a cuppa joe and listen in...

It’s funny how when you’re researching something on the Google you can get all twisted around and end up at places you never meant to go. That happened to me yesterday. I was looking for one thing and discovered something else. That something else is a website called “Dialing for Deadbeats“, which is a list of companies/people in the timeshare industry who have allegedly not paid for services rendered. This is what the opening page says:

AttentionTelemarketing Agencies
Don’t make the same mistake others made. Check the Dead Beats List for Resorts/Travel Sites that have not paid for services rendered.

This website was designed to provide useful information to marketing companies everywhere on Resorts/Travel sites that do not pay.

All listings are submitted by the individual marketing companies that are owed for marketing services provided to the Resorts/Travel Sites listed.

We encourage all marketing companies that have not been paid to submit their own claim in attempt to keep others from providing services to the Dead Beat Resorts/Travel Sites until they have settled their debts.

There are some interesting names listed once you click on the “View Full List” link to go inside. The very first “Dead Beat” on the list (it’s alphabetical) is Ameri-World Vacations, (owner Ron Schleppegrell), and the victim is listed as Vacation Grand Getaways (Laurie Borasky) who alleges he owes her $5,690 for tours provided in Hauppauge, NY. As you go down the list you’ll notice that a lot of companies/people apparently owe Borasky money. There are no dates on most of the listings (though some of the debts are quite old), so it’s unclear how old most of the alleged debts are.

Caribbean FunStays, which was operating out of King of Prussia, PA, seems to owe quite a bit of money to several people– not counting the consumers they sold bogus vacation club memberships to. They were selling memberships in Leisure Connections Travel before they either took a powder or went bankrupt (see this article about the company).

Some of the “victims” on the list are owed considerable amounts. For instance, Horizon Travel (owner David Vavro) allegedly owes National Reservations, Inc. $26,000. Vacation Station, LLC (owner Richard Loman) allegedly owes Vacation Grand Getaways a total of $65,810. Royal Club Resorts (Andre Muran, President) allegedly owes Savage Direct Marketing $86,243.34, and so on.

It’s entertaining reading, unless you’re either the accused or the “victim”. Are you, or a company you’re thinking of doing business with, on the list? Take a look at http://www.dialing4deadbeats.net It’s hot stuff!
