Now Eligible for National Recognition
Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 4, 2010) – Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based Brand Tango, a boutique marketing, technology and design firm, is showing that it can compete with the big boys. At the recent Addy Awards ceremony for District Four, which comprises Florida and the Caribbean, work by the agency’s vice president and creative director James Kluetz took home seven Addys. And it’s not over yet; all seven honored projects are now eligible for national honors from the Addy’s sponsor, American Advertising Federation.
With more than 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world’s largest advertising competition and arguably one of the toughest, with three tiers of competition. The more than 1,500 finalists now compete in the National Addy awards, which will be judged by a jury chaired by Rick Carpenter, president of DDB Chicago. Brand Tango is hoping to repeat its 2009 success, when the firm won a national gold Addy award.
“Of course we’re thrilled to see our work recognized by our peers,” Kluetz says. “The great thing, though, is that our clients are seeing work we have done for them generate ever more attention. We’re strong believers that great design married with a great idea can deliver a great return.”
“We’re always focused on design that works,” says Joe Russoniello, Brand Tango’s president and co-founder. “All these projects have delivered for our clients, some of them beyond their wildest expectations.”
A brochure displaying the many capabilities of Fastkit Corp., a Doral, Fla.-based print-finishing firm, won a Charlie Award, which recognizes the best work in each of the 14 media divisions. The Fastkit brochure also took home a gold Addy in the sales kit category. Each of Fastkit’s capabilities—embossing, grommets, foil stamping, bindery, die cutting and more—is illustrated with a light-hearted approach. For example, a photo of an elegant chair is embossed to make it appear that the chair is actually tufted. In another spread, a real grommet pierces a man’s ear lobe. Although the project has also won several printing industry awards, the reaction of potential clients has been the ultimate pay-off. “We’re receiving attention from people who we wouldn’t have reached before,” says Jose Fernandez, Fastkit’s president. “We’ve already picked up a large national account.”
Other award-winning work by James Kluetz includes:
- A new member kit for Hacienda Tres Rios Resort won a gold Addy in the sales kit category, as did a brochure in the catalog category.
- A brochure for Premier Cancun Vacations won a silver Addy in the catalog category.
- A Neoptx Corporate Walmart Sales Presentation won a silver Addy in the catalog category.
- And a Magaritaville Tailgating Dealer Promotion sales kit for Jarden Consumer Solutions won a gold Addy in the sales kit category.
The national Addy awards will be awarded during the American Advertising Federation’s national convention to be held June 10-12 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek & Waldorf=Astoria, in Orlando, Fla.
