Get your day off to the right start with your own MORNING MEETING. A Sales Tip of the Day and a daily blast of music for your enjoyment! Published Monday thru Friday.
REMEMBER: In general, there are no shortage of sales theories, many of which are correct, proven and work like a charm. Then there are other notions that are touted by those who really do not understand the reality of the sales environment, let alone that of being a true sales professional.
There are also many good books, manuals and seminars that a TS rep can and should read (or attend). But at the end of the day, as with any profession, there are those who will excel and others who are basically ‘marking time’ and would most likely do no better or worse in any other position or profession.
In the sales trenches of our industry the true ‘Masters’, whether they are front-end reps, back-end (closers) or front-to-backers, posses similar personal and business (sales) traits and personalities that contribute to their success. One of those is the ability to be enthusiastic about what they are ‘selling’ but they also display a steadfast confidence by remaining calm at all times.
These professionals, for example, may be dealing with a personal financial challenge, a family situation, the recent loss of a loved one, a less than stellar prospect or they may work for a knuckle-headed boss, but because of their ‘Masters’ nature, they deflect those issues while at work like a bullet bouncing off a Super-Hero!
Sales guests warm up sooner (and more often) to a rep who is calm than they do to one who is ‘pitching’ in an overly enthusiastic manner, because when a prospect is overwhelmed with too much razzle and dazzle those little ‘red-flags’ pop up in their minds because they have run into that type of sales personality throughout their lives when buying cars, insurance, etc.
Calmness is like a magnet, too, in that it attracts trust from the sales guest because they sense the genuine nature of the rep, the presentation, product/service. Remaining enthusiastic throughout the presentation and yet calm at all times is a sure fire way to sell more ‘Slices Of Paradise’ and the savvy TS Pro who does so will be laughing all the way to the bank!
