REMEMBER: If every sales guest possessed all the free-time and (more) money they desired, the odds are favorable that they would use both to their advantage and take longer vacations and ‘holiday’ in some of the finest accommodations available worldwide.
And yet that is exactly the primary feature, attraction and benefit of owning a timeshare plan regardless if a sales guest is a sophisticated investor with net annual earnings in the top 2% or a family of four earning $50-K.
The adage to “Sell The Sizzle not the Steak” is true up to a point, but once that sizzle of vacationing lifestyle has been accomplished it is time to also sell that baked potato, with all the butter, sour cream and chives the customer craves. In our biz that potato is the selling of the actual merits of having a vacation ‘plan’.
‘Planning’ is an aspect of most people’s lives whether they’re going to the grocery store or visiting with friends, business associates or relatives. etc. The savvy rep will wisely ‘sell’ and get the appropriate commitments from each prospect regarding the importance and benefits of having a vacation (potato) plan. By doing so each time, the TS Pro will be laughing all the way to the bank.
