REMEMBER: Sadly, too many sales reps in the ‘biz’ just wing it, thinking all they have to do is show up, shake hands with their prospect(s) then ‘go-on-tour’. That off-the-cuff sales approach is the primary reason why our industry has a less than 20% closing ratio.
Despite the popular notion that what we do is NOT ‘rocket-science’ (and it is not), the fact of the matter is that to be a successful sales rep there are specific ‘rules’ (selling principles, etc.) that must be adhered to at all times and any violation of those steps (‘selling laws’) separates the real producers from all the others.
This is a ‘fun’ business and one of the few selling opportunities where a rep’s income will be in the 6 digits. But at the end of the day, selling is a business and it is the savvy TS Pros who respect their profession, learn the required (and proven) selling (and closing) techniques and who also treat their profession in the manner it truly warrants who will be laughing all the way to the bank.
