REMEMBER: You may be one of those people who doesn’t watch a lot of TV, and if so you’ve likely missed the game shows that for as long as memory serves gives away a (e.g.) 7-nights 8-day stay for “two adults” in “Beautiful Mexico…”
Sometimes, but not always, the announcer will name an actual property where the winners will stay but other times they just name the destination. What is important to know is that when the contestants ‘WIN’ you’ll never hear them complain or ask about changing to another property!
In fact, the only thing they really care about (along with the free trip) is that they are ‘going’. That is why it is very important when explaining the ‘exchanging’ process to each sales guest to let them know that are times when they may select a specific resort but that particular property may be ‘booked’ on the dates requested. But also add (e.g.) ‘not-to-worry’ because there are ample resorts in Vallarta, and Vallarta is (pretty much) Vallarta!
As we’ve often discussed, credibility in our business is ever so important during the sales process and suggesting that a prospect can get the resort they want when they want is fine, but a little dose of reality goes a long ways, too.
When it comes to the exchange system it is wise to let ‘em know that sometimes they may have to stay down the beach a ‘rock’s toss away’! But adding that they will be in Vallarta having a grand old time anyway and by letting the prospect know that they, too, like all vacationers/travelers/owners, may need to be flexible from time to time is another step in the correct (sales) process that will lead the savvy TS Pro to laugh all the way to the bank!
