REMEMBER: Keeping with a theme of Morning Meeting, it can never be emphasized enough that every TS rep worldwide is actually in the travel business and their primary purpose is not just to make a ‘sale’ but to assist vacationers and develop a ‘plan’ that provides them a superior traveling and vacationing lifestyle.
That said, sometimes the TS rep needs to hit prospects upside the head with a little dose of reality and let them know that yes, sales are obviously important but our industry would simply not exist if it weren’t for millions of ‘families’ worldwide who, for decades, have been vacationing each year at TS resorts and who are also purchasing airline tickets, car rentals, cruises, etc.
During the presentation, and in each rep’s own words, it is never a bad idea to also remind the more ‘stubborn’ prospects that their/our) lives are pretty much made up of “thirds”, the first being those first 30 years, the second 1/3 being the next 30 years and the last (if they make it) being pure gravy!
Then the rep might suggest that he/she can’t do much about those first 30 years, and maybe not much about the ‘gravy’ period but that with the prospect’s assistance ‘today’ they all can design a vacation plan that will enhance that truly limited vacation time each traveler has. And with that accomplished, the savvy TS Pro will laugh all the way to the bank.
