FORT MYERS, FL (February 16, 2011) -– Robb & Stucky Interiors has been named a finalist in the Resort Design Division of the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) annual Awards Program. Highly respected for its design work with hospitality properties, Robb & Stucky (www.robbstucky.com) is one of North America’s largest home furnishings and interior design companies.
Selected from a field of international entries, Robb & Stucky’s design work at Bluegreen Corporation’s Harbour Lights vacation ownership resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the Carriage House Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada were both selected as finalists in the resort refurbishment category. In the category of Interior Design for a New Resort Unit, the Robb & Stucky design team was also named a finalist for its design of the Presidential Suites at The Fountains Resort, located in Orlando, also a Bluegreen property. The top award winner in each category will be announced at a Black Tie Gala held in conjunction with ARDA’s annual convention in Orlando on March 30.
Robb & Stucky’s Senior Designer Nancy Woodhouse, IDS, directed the renovation and design work for the first phase of 46 units in the 96-unit three-story Harbour Lights. She selected a coastal design embracing an easy living lifestyle for the new furniture packages, inspired by the South Carolina shoreline.
Gail Huff, ASID and NCIDQ served as Senior Project Designer for the first phase of the Carriage House renovation, which included 30 of the 158 total units. Since the property is in use as both a hotel and timeshare resort, the design reflected a feel of modern residential conveniences with an urban atmosphere.
In the New Resort Unit category, Senior Designer April Campbell, ASID, NCIDQ designed the 12 Presidential Suites in sizes ranging up to 2,400 square feet for the three-bedroom units with an upscale and tailored appearance while still remaining low maintenance and child friendly.
Commented Dan Lubner, President Hospitality Division for Robb & Stucky Interiors, “This was our second year to enter this competition. We are extremely pleased with this important recognition from ARDA since it reflects the high quality of our work within the vacation ownership resort and hospitality industries.”
