REMEMBER: Attending sales training meetings, motivational seminars, etc. in our industry is always a good thing but sometimes ‘they’ preach that earnings are “unlimited” and whenever you are told or hear that little piece of garbage you can rest assured that other ‘content’ may likely be wrong as well.
Yes, in our business those who excel make a damn good living and there is no question about that. But all incomes originating from commissions depend on many variables and being told or thinking that there are piles of money lying all over the place (aka: unlimited) is a fool’s game.
Although not ‘new’ to most reps, it’s never a bad idea to use the old math formula to determine that maximum income potential (aka: unlimited), and then fine tune the presentation and/or closing skills to achieve optimum success.
Then multiply that number by your ‘average’ contract price to get your sales volume.
Then multiply that volume by the ‘average’ commission paid and you arrive at that ‘unlimited’ income!
The rep can’t change anything about tour flow and/or qualifications, etc., so if that ‘unlimited’ income is less than desired the rep needs to work on improving their sales/closing percentage and/or the average individual contract purchase price, etc.
One way to achieve that is to take some time to browse through the hundreds of Morning Meetings (herein) for ideas, ponder ’em all, apply the ones that ‘fit’, fine tune the technique and then join the few who laugh all the way to the bank.
