REMEMBER: There are several well known, respected and highly regarded sales training entities that contain a wealth of knowledge.

Yet a common thread among some of these seminars, courses, books, tapes, articles, etc. is that “You, too, can be a Master Closer in as little as six hours (or a couple of days)”.

Although it is highly recommended to read as many books, articles or MM’s, etc. as you can, as well as attend seminars, training classes and so forth, make no mistake about it: When the sun rises the very next morning it all boils down to one fundamental reality.

And that is becoming a Master Closer (sales professional) is like any other profession, which means it requires dedication to that profession and constantly improving one’s knowledge, skills, expertise and techniques.

With some training (and MM, too) an attendee/reader may pick up a tip here and there and then apply that with their next sales guest and VOILA, it worked! A good example is a new closer who, on their first attempt to ‘close’, asks Bill and Martha: “Would you like to use your Master Card or Visa to get started?”

Excited that the ‘tip’ worked the new closer now thinks they’ve got the tiger by the tail, but soon discovers the next prospect, instead of selecting which CC to use, responds, “You know, this is something we really need to think about and we never buy anything without first talking with…”

In this case, most likely this new closer is dead in the water, so to speak.

To be a real money maker, and by that we’re talking a minimum of $100-K annually, take the opportunity of being a timeshare professional more seriously than your peers do. Study, read, practice (in private or with yourself or a significant other), have fun, keep your attitude healthy and always evaluate why a sale happened and why one did not so that you can make adjustments. By doing so you will soon be able to join the other savvy TS Professionals and laugh all the way to the bank.
