REMEMBER: When it comes to being entertained sales guests (all of us) are inundated with all sorts of distortions, ranging from misinformation on the nightly news, watching ridiculous ‘Reality TV’ shows, sitcoms, most movies, etc. to the never ending bombardment of plain silly and childish feel-good but misleading television commercials.

There are, however, some ‘entertainment’ exceptions worthy of mention such as: Standing on the beach with a loved one or friend in Cancun and enjoying the beautiful ocean, sunrise or sunset. Being up in the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe, CA and experiencing ‘nature’; or star gazing on the Big Island of Hawaii at Mauna Loa Observatory. You know, VACATIONING!!!!

So here come the ’sales guests’ who are almost numb because in life they have been beaten over the head with false promises, lies, half-truths, deceit, duplicity, scams, paradoxes and so forth. And now there they are sitting in front of the dreaded timeshare sales rep who is going to sell ‘em on the glorious world of vacation ownership.

This is why it is very wise and important before the actual sales presentation begins to inform the prospect that (e.g.):

“Mary and Bill, like most folks I meet you probably think I’m going to try and ’sell’ you something today. Well, I don’t want to disappoint you but the fact of the matter is I’m not ’selling’ anything! God only knows how many people have tried to sell you something over the years. All I’m going to do is share with you the information that millions of other vacationers have found beneficial and that improves the quality of their vacations. And when I’m done, and after I’ve answered all your questions, should you decide this is not the vacationing lifestyle you’d like and that would benefit your family that is fine with me. We’ll get your gifts and part friends.”

There are several ways to get that message across to the sales guest in the rep’s own words, but make no mistake about it, with that type of declaration on the table at the outset they will feel a sense of relief believing that nobody is gonna try and sell ‘em anything. And when that happens the savvy TS Pro will be one step closer to laughing all the way to the bank.
