REMEMBER: There is an unwritten ‘business’ rule that has become a foundation for too many timeshare reps and that rule, a principle not taught at Stanford, Harvard of other fine entities offering the coveted MBA degree, is the business (selling) principle of ‘No Heat, No Eat’!
Originally born in the commission-only atmosphere of ‘If I don’t get this deal today, I won’t get paid tomorrow…’, there does come a time when every rep deals with that issue of the next paycheck being a ‘must’ and many feel they have no option but to distort and/or lie about something in order to get the deal.
Today, however, especially in places like Mexico, etc., many reps use that tactic not just to ensure they get paid on the next payday but their ‘heat’ becomes a part of their repertoire. And although they write deals, make ‘bank’, etc., they ultimately live in an odd sort of fear because they never even know for sure when and/if the ‘heat’ will work.
‘Pitching’ clean is the only way to go, all the time, and the end result is that by doing so those reps will always sell more business weekly than the heat merchants and rarely, if even, miss a pay period (check).
It is also by being a straight-shooter that the rep builds on those very important core selling values of their profession, such as believing in their product/services, the company, the industry, the benefits and features for the ‘buyers’ and so on. That, coupled with an entertaining, informative, controlled and upbeat professional sales presentation backed with superior closing skills is a sure fire way, every payday, for the savvy Timeshare Pro to laugh all the way to the bank.
