REMEMBER: We’ve all heard that people never plan to fail but they often fail to plan. When it comes to vacationers, not having a vacation plan in their lives leaves those ‘holidays’ up to someone else and guess what those ‘someone elses’ have planned for these vacationers?
Well the short answer is NOTHING and a whole bunch of UNKNOWNs to boot!
‘Someone else’ is in fact making bank that most travelers will continue to roll the dice when it comes to future travel plans, costs, etc., which is why over the past several decades most travel agencies, agents, brokers and so on have come to loathe ‘timeshares’– because our industry lets the ‘consumer’ (owner) be in control!
And these ‘agents’ are as happy as larks that most travelers are either uninformed, never prepared or are flat out lazy when it comes to vacation planning because when these vacationers book their trips online, make the phone call or walk into their travel agency at the last moment those profit motivated ‘agent/agencies’, etc. are fully prepared to take advantage of the situation and they won’t lose a night’s sleep!
The fact of the matter is that being a timeshare owner has so many more protections, benefits, guarantees and cost controls in place (Vs the ‘other’ way) that when the old Benjamin Franklin close (aka: balance sheet close) is used as a comparison that ‘other’ way cannot hold a candle to being a timeshare owner.
Planning is a good thing and each rep should incorporate that aspect of ownership as a cornerstone and/or foundation in their presentation. When sales guests know that being an owner puts them in the driver’s seat they will understand they will be the ones to control and benefit from their future vacations, and when that happens the savvy Timeshare Pro will laugh all the way to the bank.
