REMEMBER: Douglas McGregor developed the “Theory X and Theory Y” at the MIT Sloan School of Management in the 1960’s. In a nutshell he suggested that working folks (sales people, too) who are ‘X’s are lazy, dislike what they do and will avoid ‘working’ as much as possible, but to the ‘Y’ folks work is as natural as playing and they really look forward to and like what they do (for ‘work’).
Whether true or not we’ll leave for others to ponder but if you want a real eye opener take a look around the sales center today and see who is really upbeat and excited about being at work Vs those who sit around without so much as a pleasant facial expression and perhaps spend their non-selling time ‘chatting’ with others in the negative.
At the end of the day, if you’re a rep who falls into the ‘X’ category then it is time to either adjust your attitude or hit the road. And if you are in the ‘Y’ gang then you already know that timeshare sales is one of the best ‘gigs’ around so continue to hone your skills, have fun, play and be like other savvy Timeshare Pros who laugh all the way to the bank.
