Chicago, IL (November 4, 2011) — C.A.R.E., the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers, a trade association s providing the forum for vacation industry professionals to join together to provide outstanding vacation services while adhering to a stringent Code of Standards and Ethics for twenty- six years, held its successful 53rd Semi-Annual Conference in downtown Chicago, Illinois at the Courtyard by Marriott, near the world famous Magnificent Mile from September 24-27, 2011.
C.A.R.E.’s first “fly to” destination, a location that is easy to access by plane, selected rather than a typical resort location that C.A.R.E. normally has chosen in the past, attracted an extraordinary amount of interest from new members, attendees and speakers. The conference attracted many new member companies that included Festiva Holiday Group, Circle One by Blue Bay Resorts, Hopscotch Holiday, Private Residence Collection and Travel Guard. Additionally, the monies raised to support the marketing efforts of C.A.R.E. at the Silent/Live Auction and Super Raffle surpassed everyone’s expectations and all broke all previous auction records.
Equally impressive were the caliber of speakers that participated during the entire conference. Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvesti opened the conference with a warm and humor- filled welcome to Chicago. He was followed by industry leader Nigel Lobo of Grand Pacific Resorts. Mr. Lobo gave an inspirational presentation on delivering outstanding customer service and Jason Gamble, ARDA’s Vice President of state legislative affairs, recapped the industry’s condition and gave helpful advice to stay on top in today’s precarious economic storm.
The group also had fabulous opportunities for networking during a pre-conference architectural boat tour, a trolley tour of the city and even spent some time “giving back” by volunteering at the Pacific Garden Mission House immediately following the conference.
