SARASOTA, FL (February 7, 2012) — EQUIVENTURE Hospitality Leisure Group Capital has been formed to bring capital placement services to the Hospitality Leisure Sector. The newly created effort is a partnership between Equiventure Capital, LLC, and John M. Schopfer. Under his direction as Managing Partner, Mr. Schopfer, a longtime participant in the resort real estate industry in North America and around the globe, EQUIVENTURE Hospitality Leisure Group Capital will leverage the strengths of privately-held New York City based capital firm, Equiventure Capital, LLC which has over seven years of experience securing all types of capital from debt and equity to HUD funding and venture capital. An active member of ARDA, John Schopfer brings an experienced understanding of clients’ objectives and of the challenges faced in both securing capital and in successfully executing the development process.
According to Schopfer, over the past several years, during the most difficult times, Equiventure has successfully arranged hundreds of millions of dollars for acquisition, development, expansion and recapitalization across most commercial real estate sectors as well as for high-tech and energy related start-up ventures. That success has been a result of direct relationships established with non-traditional capital sources that are looking to fund credible developers/investors with a high degree of experience and positioning for success; funding projects in many North American and International markets. Working exclusively on behalf of select clients, Equiventure has shown the capability to perform in a challenging environment.
“EQUIVENTURE Hospitality Leisure Group Capital has current sources of capital that lend in hospitality leisure sector product segments that include hotel, resort, mixed-use, golf, spa, second home and vacation club, along with specialty products such as shooting grounds and motorsports. Additionally, these sources will fund for both existing and to-be-built projects,” said Schopfer.
John Schopfer has spent more than two decades in hospitality-leisure and resort real estate industries throughout the USA, Mexico and Canada, Hawaii, Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa. He has worked with many outstanding hospitality leisure brands, such Hilton/Conrad, Intrawest, and Cendant/RCI, as well as scores of individual projects. His broad experience encompasses products ranging from hotels to vacation and private residence clubs, whole-owned luxury vacation homes, and high-end private residential golf communities. He has been a developer, as well as corporate executive of large development and service companies such as Resort Condominiums International, Pahio Resorts, Americas Resort Group, and Vacation International. John has lead several resort development services firms (Resort Capital Resources, Clubworks International and Simplicity International) specializing in product development, financing and project structuring. He has been an active industry speaker and leader in ARDA (American Resort Development Association) as a Chairman League member and Trustee. EQUIVENTURE Hospitality Leisure Group Capital is currently an ARDA Trustee Company. For more information: http://www.equiventurecapital.com
