Clermont, FL (October 8, 2012) — If you own a timeshare or work in the timeshare industry, November 1st is your day. Lisa Ann Schreier a/k/a The Timeshare Crusader says, “I invite people and organizations from around the world to join together and celebrate all the great things about timeshare…and there are many.”
“I’ve been in around the industry for 14 years now and each year I’m disappointed in the negativity surrounding the product as well as the well-meaning but not very effective public relations efforts being made by the organizations whose very existences depend on a better acceptance of timeshare. I just got tired of waiting for someone else to do it, so I took it on,” said Schreier.
In order for International Timeshare Appreciation day to attract the necessary momentum and really make a splash, Schreier turned to a group of organizations that would be nimble enough to make a “yes” or “no” decision with little or no delay. She found unconditional support from the following: The National Timeshare Owners Association, TATOC, Dial An Exchange, Worldwide Timeshare Hypermarket, ResortCom, Grand Pacific Resort Management and Occidental Vacation Club.
Schreier, a freelance author, blogger, educator and speaker is quick to point out that there’s no money to be made by this initiative and that International Timeshare Appreciation Day is not about selling anything adding, “It’s my goal to have every single timeshare owner and every single timeshare company and organization take part in their own way. There’s no secret handshake, no fees to pay and I would never tell anyone how to participate. Everyone knows their business better than I do. I certainly hope that everyone takes this and runs with it and importantly, reaches out to timeshare owners worldwide to gain their input.”
On November 1st and throughout the year timeshare owners and timeshare organizations in the industry can spread the good news about timeshare through word of mouth, blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Schreier has designated the hashtag #YES2TIMESHARE for the cause as well as started a Facebook page.
