ORLANDO, FL (October 5, 2012) — On December 7, 2012, Easter Seals Florida will tee off at Holiday Inn Club Vacations® at Orange Lake Resort for a day of fundraising at the Swing FORE Camp Challenge golf tournament. All tournament proceeds will benefit Camp Challenge, a place where children and adults with disabilities can learn to live more independently.
This year’s tournament will be kicked-off by 15-year-old Matthew, an ambassador for Camp Challenge who lives with Down syndrome. Through the Camp, Matthew has been able to visit farm animals, play on the playground, swim and dance—and for the first time, be independent from his family’s supervision. Matthew says, “My mom [knows] I’m with people who love me and will take good care of me. I’m so glad that Camp Challenge is there for me.”
Swing “FORE” Camp Challenge will be held at Orange Lake Resort’s 18-hole, Arnold Palmer-designed Legends course.
Easter Seals aims to raise $25,000 through this event for Camp Challenge—with 92 cents of every dollar raised going directly to Camp Challenge. Proceeds will help provide camping and recreation as well as rehabilitative services for our youth and adult clients.
