ORLANDO, FL (October 11, 2013) — Today, in celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s second annual Global Week of Service, October 6 – 12, more than 125 volunteers from Hilton Grand Vacations will complete ten service projects at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. Community service is a tradition embedded in Hilton Worldwide’s culture, and acts of volunteerism occur year-round across our portfolio of ten distinct brands and 4,000 properties. The Hilton Grand Vacations team’s efforts are a part of Hilton Worldwide’s week-long celebration of the company’s commitment to serving the communities where we live, work and travel, which this year includes hundreds of hands-on service projects globally.

We remain committed to positively impacting the lives of our neighbors in need and this signature volunteer event enables us to make an important difference,” said Mark Wang president of global sales and Hilton Grand Vacations. “Service is at the heart of our business, and today, we are spending the afternoon spreading the light and warmth of Hilton hospitality.”Under the leadership of Neil Peraza, Hilton Grand Vacations Community Champion and vice president resort operations and club business management, 10 HGV teams will work together to complete projects that range from: painting a 40-foot mural designed by a Coalition client, assembling play and exercise equipment, and landscaping; to enhancing the interior of onsite transitional housing, offering tutoring support to residents, assembling hygiene bags, and more! According to Peraza, “In coordination with Hands-On Orlando, we’ve designed service projects to benefit clients and enhance facilities at Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida in downtown Orlando. The projects accommodate varying levels of volunteer service, and our team is truly excited to be making an impact in so many innovative ways.”

Coalition for the Homeless is the largest provider of homeless services in Central Florida. This non-profit organization works to transform the lives of homeless men, women and children by providing crucial services to end their crisis of homelessness.
