GOLD COAST, QLD (November 27, 2013) A Queensland grandmother will soon be jetting off to exotic Singapore with 11 of her family and friends after winning a trip thanks to timeshare giant Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and low-cost airline Scoot.
The huge online competition attracted widespread attention, with a total prize value of more than $10,000. More than 20,000 hopeful Australians entered the three-month promotion, but it was Brisbane woman Eleanor Coghill who took out the incredible prize.
“It’s so unbelievable, I’ve never won anything as exciting as this,” said Mrs Coghill from Aspley. “It’s such a fantastic opportunity to be able to take my family to see beautiful Singapore. I have had stopovers there a few times but I’ve always really wanted to go back,” she added.
Mrs Coghill won return flights for her and 11 friends, two nights accommodation, return airport transfers and an amazing sightseeing package showcasing the best of this Asian holiday destination, including a fascinating ‘Singapore by Night’ tour.
“Scoot is delighted that we were able to team with international hotel group Wyndham to offer such a terrific prize,” said General Manager Australia Scoot, Darren Wright. “We pride ourselves on participating in community activities, partnering with great companies and offering many opportunities across the board for people to win a trip to fly on Scoot. We congratulate the winner and look forward to carrying her and her family to Singapore,” Mr Wright added.
During their Singapore holiday, the group will stay at the stylish Wyndham Hotel Group property, the Ramada Singapore at Zhongshan Park, in the heart of all the action.
The lucky winner now faces the challenge of choosing who to take on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. “I’ve definitely got a lot of new friends now!” Mrs Coghill laughed, “It’s a shame I can’t take them all! I’ve decided to take my husband Barry and my three daughters and their husbands, as well as four friends,” she said.
“We are so excited to partner with Scoot to offer this incredible experience for Eleanor and her friends,” said CEO and Managing Director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, Barry Robinson. “It is our company vision at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific to make holiday dreams come true and I am sure this will be a truly unforgettable trip for the lucky winners,” he said.
