Sanibel Island, FL (May 16, 2014) — From Uncle Sam circulating with guests to mermaids frolicking in the pool, live entertainment daily and an All-American Cook-out on the pool deck, the hospitality team at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is gearing up for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26 at the iconic Gulf-front condominium resort on Sanibel Island.
Sundial Beach Resort Plans Memorial Day CelebrationsAccording to General Manager Bob Kramm, “The weekend will provide non-stop fun for resort guests and visitors with continuous events, traditions and patriotic celebrations.”
Uncle Sam will be a special guest, honoring veterans and military service members. A flag-raising ceremony in front of the resort will take place at 8 a.m. on Monday, Memorial Day, with the flag raised according to military protocol as participants sing America, The Beautiful fueled by bottled water and complimentary pastries. All Island residents and resort guests are invited to participate.
Two Happy Hours will be held daily from 3-5 p.m. at the Pool & Beach Bar and from 5-7 p.m. at Sea Breeze Café. Mermaids will greet visitors to the Main Pool Deck from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, dressed in patriotic crowns.
The island’s legendary musician-songwriter Danny Morgan and his band will play to expected crowds in the Sea Breeze Café from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Memorial Day, where he will host the popular Margarita Monday celebration, now including a Taco Bar for $12.95 and $5 Margaritas. Other Island entertainers will perform at the Pool & Beach Bar from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday (with Danny Morgan), Sunday and Monday.
The all-you-can-eat All American Cookout Buffet will be presented on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. The buffet includes hot dogs, brats, burgers, fried chicken, salads and ice pops for the kiddies. Price is $12.95 for adults and $5.95 for children. Kids under 3 dine free.
The Sea Breeze Café is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. offering indoor and outdoor dining with the best water views on the Island. Breakfast is served from 7-11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5-10 p.m. The adjacent Waterview fine dining room also serves dinner from 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Guests and visitors will also be able to utilize the newly opened Kay Casperson Lifestyle Spa & Boutique, offering rejuvenating nail and hair services as well as revitalizing facials and relaxing massages.
