Phuket, Thailand (August 20, 2014) — Anantara Vacation Club, a luxury shared ownership concept, is delighted to announce that its newest signature resort, Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao, raised THB250,000 at Karaoke for a Cause, a special evening benefiting Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, a local charity that provides education to disadvantaged kids from Phuket’s poorest areas.
“We are honoured to be able to support such a worthy organization,” said Martin Tolan, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Anantara Vacation Club. “This event was an inspiring way to engage our owners in supporting our neighbouring communities. We look forward to growing Anantara Vacation Club’s partnership with Phuket Has Been Good To Us and supporting more and more children through their commendable efforts.”
Karaoke for a Cause was held on August 2 at the Chaam Restaurant of the resort. More than eighty owners and visiting guests participated in the evening which featured music from DJ Thomas the Tank and a culinary extravaganza presented by Chef Boonson and his crew. Guests bid on more than 20 items in the silent and live auctions, including accommodation in Maldives, Abu Dhabi and The Golden Triangle. More than THB250,000 was raised through the auction for Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, a partner charity of Anantara Vacation Club since its grand opening in June, 2013. To date, Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao has raised over THB500,000 for the foundation, providing enough funds to sponsor an entire year of interactive English learning for a class of up to twenty disadvantaged students.
Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao opened in 2013 as AVC’s first purpose built Signature Club Resort. Located in northwest Phuket on the edge of Sirinath National Park adjacent to Mai Khao Beach, the resort offers 70 luxurious apartment suites and 30 spacious pool villas along with a swim-up lagoon pool, kids club, state-of-the-art fitness centre and an assortment of restaurants and bars.
