MANCHESTER, U.K. (December 11, 2014) — The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), TATOC, is delighted to announce that Brockwood Hall near the U.K.’s Lake District has become a TATOC resort member and achieved TATOC resort accreditation.
Explaining the resort’s application for membership, director Robin Mills said: “I do not believe it is an option these days. If you wish to be taken with any degree of seriousness and credibility as a resort it is a must.”
Built in 1884 in the scenic Whicham Valley for the Brocklehurst family, shipping magnates of Liverpool and close to England’s picturesque Lake District, Brockwood Hall now offers 32 self-catering Scandinavian lodges, which are dotted around the estate.
Overlooked by the Blackcombe and Whitecombe hills, Brockwood Hall provides members with a range of on-site facilities and services including a leisure centre, restaurant and bar and superb walking on the doorstep.
The Lake District with its inspiring landscapes, interesting towns and villages and wealth of tourist attractions is just 40 minutes away.
The resort is also celebrating achieving TATOC Resort Accreditation, joining the ranks of some of Europe’s leading resorts that have undergone this meaningful and robust process.
Robin Mills explained the importance of TATOC accreditation for a resort: “TATOC has developed an in depth process of accreditation as a benchmark for the industry based on many years of experience, it is essential that we adopt those principles as our minimum ‘KPI’s’ as a standard of operating within the resort and build upwards from there.”
The TATOC Resort Accreditation programme was launched in 2008 as independent recognition for resorts that meet the highest standards of holiday experience for guests and owners alike.
Accreditation acknowledges resorts that are truly customer-driven and are willing to commit to all the requirements of the association’s codes of conduct and ethics.
Resorts who apply for TATOC Accreditation undergo an inclusive on-site inspection and audit. The process is robust and comprehensive as the association believes it is essential the award is seen as hard earned and meaningful.
The TATOC accreditation flag flying from the masthead gives prospective purchasers, as well as exchange visitors and guests, an assurance that, judged from a consumer standpoint, the holiday experience provided is one of real value.
The TATOC accreditation team considers aspects such as:
- The standard of accommodation and leisure facilities;
- The marketing that brought a guest or owner to the resort complex;
- The health, fire and safety standards at the resort;
- The sales practices at the resort; and
- The customer service levels provided by the resort.
Harry Taylor, TATOC’s executive chairman commented: “I have been working with the Brockwood team for some time and am delighted not only that they have joined our membership, but they have achieved accreditation status. This is a great milestone for the club and I wish them well in their future endeavours. TATOC will support them as much as possible.”
The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), known as TATOC, was formed 25 years ago and is the only elected consumer association representing the interests of timeshare owners in Europe.
The mission of TATOC is to safeguard and enhance the timeshare holiday experience for existing and prospective users and to be the voice of owners. In recent years, TATOC has focused not only on increasing the membership base but also raising the profile of the Association, establishing TATOC as the recognised voice of the timeshare consumer and an informed point of contact.
The Association is now a regular contributor to the consumer press and works closely with the UK’s Trading Standards offices, law enforcement and other authorities. TATOC CEO Harry Taylor is regularly interviewed on national radio and features in the industry press.
