(GCI), has been awarded the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers (C.A.R.E.) Pinnacle Award. Each year C.A.R.E. awards this honor to an individual who has made a significant impact on the vacation industry, is committed to community service, has extensive experience in the vacation industry and exhibits the highest ethical standards within the vacation industry. This is the sixth year the award has been presented.
Nominations for the Pinnacle award are submitted by the C.A.R.E. membership and each nominee must meet a demanding list of criteria to be eligible for this prestigious award. Some of these qualifications, among others, include being active in the vacation industry for at least 15 years; being employed by a C.A.R.E. member company in good standing; making a positive impact on the direction and standards of the vacation industry and exhibiting commitment to the community through philanthropic activities.
Dave’s role at Global Connections is focused on overseeing operations and developing new resorts to accommodate its expanding group of enthusiastic Travel Club Members. Dave, a member of the Board of C.A.R.E. since 2009, helped establish the C.A.R.E. Gives Back Volunteer program. The program gives members the chance to give back to resort communities through volunteer efforts such as beach clean-ups, meal service at local shelters and maintenance at youth and elderly daycare facilities. As Co-chairman of the Marketing and Revenue Committees Dave assisted with the development of the popular Silent/Live Auctions and Super Raffle, C.A.R.E.’s primary fundraisers. He is active in ARDA as well as various local organizations focused on providing environmental and humanitarian efforts within the community.

His leadership, integrity, quality standards and ethics set an example for us all.”
Upon receiving the award Dave encouraged new CARE members and first-time conference attendees to become active in the vacation industry, in their association, and in their communities. Dave Dawson says “it is a great honor to have received this award and I thank everyone who supported me throughout the years, especially my coworkers at Global Connections, without whom this would not have been possible.”
