AMResorts has announced 13 new resort management deals so far this year, more than double the amount signed in 2014, marking a new record for the company. The opening of Breathless® Montego Bay Resort & Spa will mark the debut of UVC’s adults-only Breathless Resorts & Spas brand in Jamaica and double the vacation club’s resort footprint on the island. The expansion is in response to consumer demand, as visitor arrivals to Jamaica have increased by more than 45 percent in the last decade*.
With the addition of Breathless Playa del Carmen Resort & Spa, Dreams® Villas Playa del Carmen and Sunscape® Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, UVC will have 30 open resorts in Mexico by the end of 2017, proving this market is extremely attractive to both travelers and hotel developers. As Playa del Carmen is considered one of Mexico’s fastest growing cities**, UVC will expand into this region with Breathless Playa del Carmen and Dreams Villas Playa del Carmen. Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, scheduled to open in late 2016, will feature 150 rooms and suites offering privileged views of the Caribbean Sea and access to the longest stretch of private white-sand beach in this popular vacation destination. The resort, located within a 15-minute drive of Sangster International Airport, will be situated next to sister properties Secrets® St. James Montego Bay and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay, as well as Sunscape Montego Bay Jamaica, which will officially rebrand as a Sunscape Resorts & Spas property on Dec. 23, 2015.
Slated to open in 2017, Breathless Playa del Carmen Resort & Spa will feature 500 rooms catering to guests seeking a vibrant, chic and modern adults-only experience, while Dreams Villas Playa del Carmen will offer 150 luxury villas and 50 junior suites in a sophisticated, family-friendly atmosphere. The resorts will sit adjacent to each other in the Grand Coral gated development, one of Playa del Carmen’s most exclusive private communities.
Sunscape Puerto Vallarta is set to open by mid December 2015, in time for the holiday travel season. The contemporary, beachfront resort will boast an exquisite setting for relaxation or adventure, perfectly complementing the affordable, child-friendly, Sunscape brand. Sunscape Puerto Vallarta will house more than 300 rooms designed for families, friends, singles and couples.
