SMUGGLERS’ NOTCH, VT (November 27, 2015) — Smugglers’ Notch Resort in northern Vermont has focused on offering Winter fun for families for decades. The resort’s Winter Experience vacation package celebrates the variety of activities available both outdoors and indoors for discovery, adventure and fun for all ages.
Each day the resort’s Nordic center hosts daily snowshoe group lesson treks, cross country lessons and guided winter walking outings to explore the mountain environment. There’s also outdoor ice skating, snow tubing, and airboard sledding to enjoy as part of the package. Unique offerings include a tasting class of delicious coffees, teas and cocoas; a class on using herbs and aromatherapy for Winter health; a heated cabin snowcat ride; and a snowman mug painting class.
Depending on the length of stay, guests also can choose one or two additional activities designed to create special memories. These adventures include an evening snowmobile tour to rugged Smugglers’ Notch pass, the ArborTrek Zip Line Canopy Tour, a Via Ferrata climbing and rappelling adventure, a mountain summit snowshoe trek and candlelight dinner, mini snowmobile track rides for children ages 6-12, and more.
“Anyone with a Winter fun wish list should take a look at the Vermont Winter Experience,” says Smugglers’ activities and aquatics director Stacey Comishock. “With the wide variety of activities, the package appeals to non skiers looking for fun on the snow as well as to skiers and snowboarders who want to do something a little different when they plan a day off from the slopes.” Smugglers’ stands by its programs with a guarantee: if a guest participates in one of the resort’s programs and doesn’t have fun, Smugglers’ will refund the entire program portion of that guest’s stay.
The Vermont Winter Experience Vacation Package starts at $119 per youth and $159 per adult per night. Mountainside condominium lodging, use of the heated pool and hot tub, the FunZone indoor entertainment center, and family and adult entertainment are included. Vermont Winter Experience programming can also be added on to Smugglers’ other winter vacation packages at a cost of $72 per adult per day or $54 per youth per day (ages 6-17). Dining, a country store, sport shop, nursery, massage center and other amenities are conveniently located in the resort’s village served by an on-call shuttle.
