Harrill brings more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry to Christel House. This includes positions at industry-leading timeshare organizations Trendwest Resorts and Hilton Grand Vacations Company. Since becoming CEO of Orange Lake Resorts in 2005 and launching the Holiday Inn Club Vacations brand in 2008, he has led the company to a consecutive 10 years of record growth.
As a leader within the industry and former ARDA (American Resort Development Association) Chairman, Don is a key voice in the timeshare industry. He avidly champions corporate philanthropy while quietly providing personal support to many community charities. In 2011, Orange Lake Resorts received the ARDA Ace Philanthropic Award, among the highest honors within the timeshare industry.
An ardent supporter of Christel House, Harrill has visited the Mexico City learning center and regularly leverages his voice within the timeshare industry to help raise funds and awareness for the organization. Since 2001, Harrill and the team at Orange Lake Resorts have raised more than $1.5M for Christel House.
“Christel House has indeed been fortunate to find individuals whose passion for helping impoverished children is complemented by strong business acumen and a global point of view,” said CHI Founder and CEO, Christel DeHaan. “Don joins a group of highly committed and energized directors who are intent on expanding the scope and impact of our organization.”
“I am truly honored to be named to the Christel House Board of Directors,” said Harrill. “The organization does tremendous work helping break the cycle of poverty of impoverished children and their families and transforming these boys and girls into the next generation of leaders. Christel continues to create a remarkable legacy through Christel House and I look forward to all we will accomplish together.”
Harrill will participate in governing operations of the nonprofit and its schools in Indianapolis, India, Mexico, and South Africa.
