Ya Burnt! May 13, 2017

Pretty much lost in the recent foofarah regarding the firing of FBI chief James Comey and the seemingly endless rounds of nigh hysterical coverage of the Trump/Russia scandal by journalists and commentators — which is pretty hard to avoid if you don’t have more than basic cable TV — I discovered this little nugget that made me snort coffee out of my nose.

A law firm representing President Trump has asserted he had no significant business ties to Russia and was not in debt to Russia, though they did not reveal any documentation to verify anything and without additional information on Trump’s tax returns and income, the letter from the lawyers is meaningless.

The attorneys in question are Sheri Dillon and William Nelson, tax partners at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, which has served as tax counsel to Trump and the Trump Organization since 2005. They wrote a letter dated March 8 that the White House released on Friday, May 12, stating that a review of the last 10 years of Trump’s tax returns “do not reflect” ties to Russia “with a few exceptions.” And Trump is using that letter as some kind of “proof” that he has/had no financial ties to Russia.

Here’s the kicker.

    1) The law firm those two attorneys work for has extensive ties to Russia, with a Moscow branch that has 40 attorneys working there; in 2016 the firm received the “Russia Law Firm of the Year” award. I kid you not! 😀
    2) Though a firm spokesperson said that no lawyers from Morgan Lewis have handled any business dealings for Mr. Trump in Russia, that does not mean that other entities (shell corporations?) – Russian or otherwise – have not done so.
    3) No timeshare closer sitting across the table from Trump would accept such a ridiculous precept for even a minute. The question is, do you think you could qualify, isolate, box and overcome/resolve any “objection” he might make?

You just can’t make this stuff up!

More liberal nonsense trying to take over every aspect of any and everything. Ya Burnt me when I wasted my time reading your political garbage on a timeshare page. Really??

Scratching my head here, yes it’s political but you have failed to point out what was innacurate about it. I’m not seeing it’s either liberal or conservative if the information is correct. It’s either true or it’s not. Do you object to it/call it garbage and nonsense because it’s political or because you disagree with it? Why do you think it’s garbage, enlighten us with the accurate facts then. If you can’t point out where the information is wrong, then the Ya Burnt applies to you. 😉

I’m with you though that I’d also rather not see politics in here (just my opinion) so I politely ask gatekeeper to please avoid it in the future.

Why am I reading your one sided politics in a timeshare blog? Irrelevant even with your weak attempt of tying it to a TS closer! Cmon man……. Stick to our subject!
