Virginia USA Timeshare News: July 15, 2017

It's Happy Hour at The GateHouse >> EASTERN USA TIMESHARE NEWS:

NORFOLK: As of July 14, the sentencing date for Deborah Wagner, a former attorney who lost her license to practice law in the State of Virginia due to her part in a timeshare transfer scam, is still set for July 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM.

In the meantime several actions have been taken regarding forfeiture, repayment and other such things. And a woman named Hope Cooper has been subpoenaed to testify at the hearing; I have no idea who she is or what she might have to contribute.

In other news, the court has set the rules for which money goes into which of Wagner’s bank accounts, basically breaking it down to what money is available for her to spend and the money she has to keep her hands off. The court order says that in no event shall she spend more than $3,998.59 per month, exclusive of the $15,000 one-time withdrawal referenced below.

For instance, in one account (the OPB account) all Social Security and Retirement funds are deposited, plus money for rent, etc. In another account everything else is deposited and she has to keep a complete record of it for the government. The court order says “Union Bank shall permit the defendant to make a one-time withdrawal of up to S15,000 from Union Account 7281, which funds may only be used to pay expert fees for the defendant’s sentencing hearing in this case. “Experts” as used in this paragraph refers to both testifying and non-testifying experts, The defendant shall provide the government with an accounting in this regard upon request after the sentencing.”

Stay tuned; I’ll be back next Saturday (hopefully) with more news.
