Commented Jim Danz, “During his 25 years in the vacation ownership industry, Bob Kobek has been applauded for utilizing leading industry-specific technology capabilities to measure customer feedback, a critical need for today’s businesses within our industry. We were so impressed with this service, that we recently named CustomerCount our Survey Provider of Choice, since it efficiently tracks the reservation, sales and vacation experience for our clients’ members, owners and guests. ”
Kobek is a Chairman’s League member of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and has participated on various association committees. He earned his Registered Resort Professional (RRP) designation and has been a speaker at ARDA regional meetings and national conventions. MVP serves as the primary research organization for ARDA’s International Foundation, of which Kobek is a board member. He also serves as Chairman of the Information Services Advisory Board of the Information Services and Operations Management Department of Miller College of Business at Ball state University.
Prior to forming MVP in 1999, Bob spent more than 20 years in the direct marketing industry, specializing in database management/marketing. This involved the design and implementation of more than 150 outbound telemarketing, inbound customer service and order processing operations and interactive information systems.
Another timeshare veteran, Ron Sharp is President of Sharp Consultancy, Inc., which currently provides sales and marketing guidance to Welk Resort Group. For the past decade, he has managed or completed sellout of several land development projects and is credited with developing a boutique Fiji resort named one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world by Forbes.com in 2005. He also served as Senior VP and CFO for Welk Resort Group and directed legal, accounting and finance related responsibilities for the Welk resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Previously he was co-partner of Success Companies, later acquired by Vistana and Starwood Hotels as well as VP of Marketing for Midlan International, specializing in bank workouts. In describing Trident’s selection of Sharp as an Advisory Partner, Managing Partner Bill Tsao added: “Ron’s selection to fulfill the CFO Advisory role follows a thorough evaluation process. We not only considered the needs of our current clients, but also the requirements of potential investors into the timeshare space. The latter could require an investment risk analysis and/or the ability to provide expert financial guidance for an operational platform in a manner that best serves a return on investment. We compiled a list of ‘must-have’ requirements for the position, including capital structure experience, development planning, budgeting, financing, management, tax and accounting, but equally important we felt we needed a deep understanding of operations, particularly sales and marketing. Ron brings all of those key attributes to the table.”
“We are honored to have assembled a best-in-class group of professionals to serve as our Advisory Partners who are widely acknowledged as successful business executives and respected authorities in their fields,” concluded Danz.
