REMEMBER: There are several reasons every TS sales rep will hit that dreaded and often inevitable sales slump and some of those reasons, such as the state of the economy, can be beyond the rep’s control.
However, another slump that will often plague TS reps are the self-induced ones, and when a TS rep is in any slump, before deciding it is the tours, the management, the economy, etc., the very first place every rep should ‘check’ is their attitude and their sales performance.
Keep in mind that even in the 1920’s when sales reps were trying their hardest to sell (e.g.) something new call air-conditioning systems (for homes, offices and buildings) and were traveling throughout the S.W. USA in 110 plus ‘temps’ they, too, had slumps. But at the end of the day the successful A/C sales reps gave a magnificent performance, overcame the objections and/or conditions and closed the deals.
And if those Pros were able to accomplish that while driving long distances in a car w/no A/C and then walk, uninvited, into an office and meet some grouch sitting behind a metal fan trying to keep cool, then the TS Pro, with the right attitude, can do the same in the comfort of their sales center and laugh all the way to the bank!
