London (December 15, 2010) – Interval International, a leading global provider of vacation services and an operating segment of Interval Leisure Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: IILG), hosted a series of regional Vacation Ownership Investment Conferences across South Africa during November.
One-day events were held in the major centres of Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg, and attracted potential new developer entrants from across Southern Africa. Interval was represented by David Clifton, managing director Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, and Darren Ettridge, vice president resort sales and service Europe, Middle East and Africa.
David Clifton gave the keynote presentation entitled “The Dawn of a New Era: Shared Ownership Growth in Southern Africa” and business sessions covering a variety of topics were led by Darren Ettridge and key industry partners. Topics covered included programme design, the role of exchange, sales and marketing, and case studies by existing developers.
The conferences were supported by Africa’s largest law firm, Edward Nathan Sonnenberg; leading financial and business advisers, Grant Thornton; regional developer and Interval affiliate, Southern Sun; local marketer and broker, Winchester Marketing; the Vacation Ownership Association of Southern Africa (VOASA); Preferred Residences; and Perspective Magazine. Local marketing consultants and event facilitator Fractional Advertising also supported and helped coordinate the events.
