Global hospitality and vacation ownership company gives back to the community through involvement in after school program
Las Vegas, NV (February 08, 2011) — DIAMOND RESORTS INTERNATIONAL® (Diamond), a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries gives back to the community as corporate headquarter team members engage in the After School All Stars volunteer program at Roundy Elementary School and Wynn Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For the past two and a half years, Diamond team members have made a positive impact on children’s lives by volunteering their time interacting with at risk elementary school students and participating in reading programs, arts and crafts, cooking, science, sports and academic tutoring. From Diamond’s legal counsel to the GM of Polo Towers, many have dedicated their efforts to investing in Las Vegas’ youth through generous donations of their money and time.
The After-School All-Stars program first launched as a summer athletic organization for inner city youth in Atlanta, Georgia. More than 15 years later the program has seen exponential growth and has programs nationwide providing at risk students with high performing, quality programs to enhance academic and personal growth, build relational and communication skills and develop students to their full potential. Schools and teachers across the country partner with volunteers to provide tutoring, mentoring, athletic coaching and reading to students.
According to Stephen J. Cloobeck, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Diamond Resorts International®, “We have the privileged opportunity to donate our time to a very special group of children, and it’s my hope that through our involvement with this unique organization we will be able to significantly impact the lives of many children and adequately equip them for a brighter future. It’s an honor to partner with the After School All Stars program as their organization has done much for the youth of Las Vegas.”
