Get your day off to the right start with your own MORNING MEETING. A Timeshare Sales Tip of the Day and a daily blast of music for your enjoyment! Published Monday thru Friday.
REMEMBER: It is reported by Dr. Sharon Melnick, PhD, who apparently has over 10 years of research at the Harvard Medical School, that humans average upwards of 60,000 thoughts in a single day.
For simplicity’s sake let’s just cut those numbers way down to something we can wrap our minds around and say that during our waking hours, on average, we have 100 thoughts per day.
The good Dr. professes that about 1/2 of everyone’s thoughts involve being worried, doubting or negative about something and if that is true then that would apply to most timeshare sales reps, managers, et al) as well.
As everyone knows, in sales a positive attitude is extremely important and when any timeshare rep is pondering negative thoughts throughout the day it will make the task at hand even more challenging.
So here’s an idea to consider.
Take a piece of paper and pen/pencil and whether at home, work, shopping or whatever, for just one hour (only) every time a ‘thought’ comes to mind jot down if that thought had a positive or a negative meaning. At the end of the hour add up those thoughts and get an idea of how many are on the “+” side and how many are on the “-” side.
It may sound foolish but if you discover that you are, as the Dr. suggests, spending way too much time on the ‘negs’ then it is time to take care of those ‘issues’, eliminate them from your life and then concentrate on being as positive as possible so that you can laugh all the way to the bank!
