(March 11, 2011) — Hapimag, a Swiss non-profit, points based shared holiday organization that pioneered the timeshare concept, is once again renovating some of its 57 addresses in 2011 so its more than 140,000 members can continue to find the usual high facility standards the minute they open the apartment door no matter what Hapimag resort they are in.
Set for changes this year are the following four Hapimag resorts:
Interest in oriental healing practices such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is growing steadily in the Western world. Hapimag would like to make this ancient form of therapy accessible to members in Winterberg, one of the winter sports centers of the Sauerland. In order to provide the cooperation venture partner TC Medic with the necessary infrastructure for the treatments, the main building of the resort needs to undergo some structural alterations. These are currently in progress. In addition, a restaurant will open in spring 2011 whose offering will be strongly based on the five elements of Chinese medicine in order to support the effect of TCM healing methods in the best possible way.
Hapimag and the local charitable organisation, Caritas, have agreed to jointly operate the Hapimag resort in Unterkirnach, located in Germany’s famed Black Forest. In future, Caritas will employ people with disabilities, who otherwise would no longer have had any opportunities on the normal job market, for certain tasks in the gastronomy operation, housekeeping and in the garden. For example, trainees with learning difficulties can complete their training here or persons with hearing disabilities or language difficulties can assume tasks in the kitchen or garden. In addition, the leisure advice and excursion offering in the resort and in the natural paradise of the Black Forest will be extended and implemented with the help of the local authority in Unterkirnach. These two cooperation ventures make the infrastructure adjustments here necessary. The apartments are also to undergo renovation work.
The Hapimag resort on Sicily has been in the portfolio for two years. Experiences in the daily operation have shown that the processes can still be improved. Thus it is now planned to relocate the reception and the shop into an existing building that is situated closer to the site entrance. This restructuring is planned for completion in 2011. Cefalù is included in the club of The most beautiful villages in Italy, namely a unique combination of small Italian towns that stand out among others for the great artistic, cultural and historic contributions and for harmony of the urban livability and citizen services.
Located in Spain’s famed Costa del Sol, the complete ground floor and the inner courtyard of Hapimag Marbella are to be renovated following the 2011 summer season. The entire area will become more clearly arranged and attractive with the restructuring. It is also planned to relocate the restaurant so that the guests can benefit fully from the unique location by the sea.
In addition to the renovations of those properties, Hapimag is also planning two new city residences, one in Lisbon (PT) and one in Salzburg (AT) in the coming years. Hapimag is still in contact with the authorities at both locations with regard to obtaining the respective building permits. The same also applies to the property in Cervo, Liguria, where the preliminary contract will only take effect after a valid building permit has been received.
Headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, Hapimag started in 1963 with the idea of offering flexible rights of residence at a variety of holiday destinations has developed over the years into a European market-leading success story. Today, Hapimag owns over 5300 apartments in 57 resorts and residences and is represented in 16 different countries. There are also partnerships for supplementary offers, so today Hapimag can offer accommodation all around the world. In addition, Hapimag offers its own travel services, as well as other services such as booking hire cars, organising concert tickets and travel tickets at the location of your choice.
