REMEMBER: Now here is a real deal maker (or breaker) and it comes up in every single timeshare presentation every day of the year all around the world. It has to do with the ‘flexibility of the system’ aspect in terms of an owner’s use.
It all started back in the ‘old-days’ when most timeshare plans were those fixed weeks, seasons and units. When the objection was raised by the sales guest that (e.g.) ‘It just isn’t flexible enough for us…’ the ‘closers’ of the era didn’t waste a second, becoming very ‘creative’ and offering up all sorts of ‘flexibility’ shticks…
However, back then as is the case today, being overly ‘flexible’ about use was mostly ‘heat’ because in the real world of life, travel and vacation planning there are all sorts of rules, regulations, procedures, restrictions, limitations, guidelines. And most consumers (aka: sales guests) have been conditioned all their lives to follow the ‘process’ (aka: regimentation).
Every timeshare rep should pause for a moment when talking about ‘flexibility’ and remember to ‘speak’ in the language the sales guest is familiar with. Do so by explaining the entire process– including restrictions, conditions, limitations, etc.– and when sales guests hear ‘flexibility’ explained in that manner (hearing what they already know), the savvy Timeshare Pro will be laughing all the way to the bank.
