Dubai, UAE (April 15, 2011) — RCI, the global leader in vacation exchange, and The Registry Collection® programme, the world’s largest luxury exchange program, have partnered with Bench Events, organizers of the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC), to co-host the second edition of the Shared Ownership Master Class 2011.
The Shared Ownership Master Class 2011 is part of the three-day AHIC conference programme which takes place between 30 April and 2 May at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE, with the half-day Master Class taking place on Saturday, 30 April.
The shared-ownership business models to be showcased and discussed at the Master Class will feature leisure-oriented real estate and hospitality products that include timeshare, fractional, private residence clubs and destination clubs. The business model is well established in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets, such as Egypt and Dubai, showing tremendous growth potential as favourable market conditions attract quality hospitality assets.
“This is the event for hospitality companies and mixed-use developers to get a really close look at how leading hospitality brands have benefited from their entry into the shared-ownership market sector,” said Shafi Syed, regional director, The Registry Collection® programme, MENA. “The Master Class format offers a fantastic opportunity to meet and talk to an impressive and knowledgeable line-up of experienced leaders from branded vacation-ownership companies.”
Attendees will benefit from interaction with global and regional experts from leading hospitality and shared-ownership brands as they share their experiences and discuss why shared ownership is so relevant in the Middle East today. In addition, leaders from luxury-branded residential and private residence club developments will provide insights into how luxury brands could unlock value from real estate products in the region.
During the specially created interactive sessions, delegates can directly discuss key aspects of product development with the panelists, including recent product trends and strategies to integrate a shared-ownership product within an existing hotel or resort development. The sales and marketing panel will provide insights into regionalized sales solutions and strategies to enhance occupancy levels. The financial panel will disclose how shared-ownership margins compare to other asset classes and demonstrate the diverse nature of revenue streams arising from this business model. Finally attendees will be able to open up the bonnet on a live case study of a successful project in Dubai.
“We are delighted to bring back such an exciting event to the region with AHIC,” said Dimitris Manikis, vice president, business development for RCI, EMEA. “We wanted to create a forum where delegates could talk to leading brands like Anantara Vacation Club, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, Jones Lang La Salle Hotels, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Ltd, Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Burooj Properties, Valhalla Associates and more – under one roof in a focused interactive session. If capturing long-term customer loyalty and creating new revenue streams in a changed marketplace is a key objective for real estate developers and hospitality firms, then this is a ‘must-attend’ event for them.”
