Get your day off to the right start with your own MORNING MEETING. A Timeshare Sales Tip of the Day and a daily blast of music for your enjoyment! Published Monday thru Friday.
REMEMBER: During financially challenging times consumers become more cautious when spending even small amounts of money and in our business that means the timeshare rep must decide whether to struggle, accept the ‘Status Quo’ and continue to limp along or instead choose to take control of the sales environment and make more (or larger) sales!
Without question some sales guests today who would have purchased simply cannot do so and there is no magic bullet or ‘cure’ to change that reality. It is what it is and that is the long story short!
However, to offset those prospects the timeshare rep needs to remember that even during the Great Depression there were people making (and spending) a lot of money and that is just as true today in 2011 as it was back then.
In fact many people actually thrive during turbulent and/or financially challenging times like these and the timeshare rep’s job is to put on the old ‘blinders’ and start dealing with each sales guest as if ‘they’ are the one who is doing just that!
And that can be tricky business because most people won’t tell ‘others’ (who are struggling) that (e.g.) ‘I’m making a killing in the ‘market’. Instead they will come off as being part of the ‘herd’ when in fact they are doing very well.
In fact, at least two thirds of all sales guests are doing just fine, have money in the bank, a very stable job with access to credit, etc. and they are more than willing to spend (or invest) money on things they want and need.
It is indeed the wise timeshare rep who keeps that in mind with every handshake, and while they’re at it they should also decide to increase their (per sale price) ‘deal’ by a couple thousand dollars, which will offset those few prospects dealing with challenging times. And taking this approach with all prospects is a sure fire way for the savvy Timeshare Pro to laugh all the way to the bank.
