December 30, 2011 —Since I’ve been big (and right) on predictions lately I thought I’d close out 2011 and bring in the New Year with one more prophecy, which is to forecast that starting Monday A.M. on January 2nd 2012 there will be two and only two mindsets rolling into the corporate Timeshare Executive (developers) offices, sales centers and marketing operations throughout our world-wide industry.
So here’s the Scoop. The first group’s mindset is going to be it’s just another ho-hum day and, perhaps with a lingering hangover, all operational systems will continue as they have since the economic calamity began at the end of 2007. And before the week is out these folks will continue to be, as they have for the past several years, on ‘cruise-control’ (aka: Status Quo)!
The second group’s mindset, the approach I highly recommend, will kick off the New Year beginning day one by keeping in mind the Mayan prediction that all is going to end in December 2012 anyway, so they might as well have the time of their lives, go for the gold, make a ton of sales (money) and do whatever it takes to make 2012 the best year they’ve had in a very long time!
As noted, I prefer the latter methodology and do so for one simple reason: Either mindset is contagious. The sales guests (aka: prospects), as they always do, will sense which mindset they are experiencing as will all the personnel involved in every aspect of management, sales and the marketing of timeshare interests. Which raises the question: If we are to contaminate everyone we are exposed to, which mindset would be in everyone’s best interest?
Each timeshare company (developer) and individual will make their own choice. But for those who agree with the Mayan analogy herein and choose to shed the negativity, accentuate the positive, realize the ‘bad days’ are behind them, and embrace a positive approach to business with the realization that option is to a large extent a matter of their attitude and how they conduct their overall operations etc., then I will offer up one more 2011 prediction.
On the morning of December 22nd 2012 when that group/ mindset wakes up and realizes that the Mayans had it wrong, that throughout 2012 they’ve been laughing all the way to the bank and that 2013 is going to be even better, they may also feel a little compassion for their competitors left behind back in the dark and gloomy era that ended in 2011!
Okay, compassion might have been the wrong adjective (lol). Just make this the best year ever and ‘party’, so to speak, like there is no tomorrow. Either way, you win!
Happy New Year!
