Mexico City (March 22, 2012) — RCI®, the global leader in vacation exchange, was recognized for a second time as a Socially Responsible Company by the Mexican Philanthropy Center (CEMEFI) for exceptional management in the following areas: quality of life within the company, corporate ethics and governance, community outreach and environmentalism.
This distinction represents the culmination of a major effort made by RCI to give back to the communities in which it works. RCI is once again the only company in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry to receive this important recognition, demonstrating the Company’s continued leadership and commitment.
In terms of quality of life, RCI puts its associates first. For that reason, corporate values are reflected in its actions, programs and corporate training, with a particular focus on development, growth, welfare, and safety.
Highlighting ethics and governance, RCI continually promotes and monitors effective compliance with its code of ethics through annual certifications. Likewise, one of the Company’s main priorities is to engage in transparent and ethical practices to allow for a positive relationship between RCI and the community.
With regards to the efforts made in community outreach, the company has developed committees such as “RCI Support,” the “Green Initiative Team” and the “Great Team,” which promote growth in the community to address relevant issues such as education, health, housing and ecology, among others. One of the most prominent projects has been the continued support provided to Christel House Mexico, one of the leading institutions for childhood education.
As a company, RCI has distinguished itself in the care and preservation of the environment. The “Green Initiative Team” has implemented campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our planet, and RCI has implemented its own green practices including reforestation, energy saving and recycling, among other activities.
The award from the Mexican Philanthropy Center recognizes and reaffirms RCI’s commitment to social responsibility. Awards like these show RCI’s affiliated resorts and members that they work with a company that supports the communities where they live and work.
“We are so excited to receive this special recognition for the second year,” said Ricardo Montaudon, president and executive director, RCI Latin America. “This award recognizes and renews our commitment to supporting the community and the environment. Social responsibility reflects the spirit of our company and our drive to do better every day.”
