Harrisonburg, VA (May 10, 2013) — C.A.R.E. (Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers) member volunteers participated in a service project at The Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand (http://www.bgclubgs.com/ ) following their spring conference in Myrtle Beach, SC.
“C.A.R.E. Gives Back” is a volunteer effort in which C.A.R.E. members give of their time and talents to the resort communities that serve the vacationing public. Following the recent spring C.A.R.E. Conference in Myrtle Beach, C.A.R.E. members cleaned classrooms and restrooms at the Boys and Girls Club. According to Don Hall, Executive Director, “Volunteers are critical to our success. It is great to have groups such as C.A.R.E. come in and make a difference to the children that we serve.”
The club provides after-school and summer camp programs for children who may not have adult supervision and would otherwise have to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. Club programs enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence. Boys and Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. By helping to maintain their facility C.A.R.E. was happy to let the Boys and Girls Club members know that they were “C.A.R.E.d” for.
C.A.R.E. will participate in another volunteer event at the conclusion of its 57th Semi-Annual Conference held at Hilton Sonoma Wine Country, Santa Rosa, CA from September 28-October 1, 2013.
C.A.R.E. (www.care-online.org), established in 1985, is the vacation industry’s premier trade association. Its member companies, comprised of Resort Developers, Management and Exchange companies, HOA’s, Travel Clubs and Wholesalers, provide each other with opportunities for vacation fulfillment, exchanges and revenue enhancement through increased inventory utilization and yield management. C.A.R.E. members are required to comply with a strict Code of Standards and Ethics and benefit from outstanding professional and personal development opportunities at their semi-annual conferences.
