CANCUN, MX (January 16, 2014) — Palace Resorts, the company that sets the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations, is pleased to unveil the latest enhancement to the brand’s signature property, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort. Comprised of three luxurious sections – Moon Grand, Sunrise and Nizuc – Moon Palace has completed a 22 million dollar renovation of the Nizuc section, which includes 120 newly renovated guest rooms, the main lobby, swimming pool, food and beverage outlets, gymnasium, beauty salon, and Tortugas Ballroom.
Envisioned by Francois Frossard, one of the most cutting-edge nightclub designers in the United States, Nizuc’s new lobby offers a totally unique and ambitious concept of modern minimal glamour. As guests enter the expansive great room, they are greeted by a chic ambiance of ivory walls juxtaposed by vibrant artwork. Irreverent accents such as elephant tusk chandeliers, whimsical glass fixtures and mile-high ceilings come together to create an ambiance of total opulence. The resort’s stunning design celebrates modern aesthetics, blending European influence with Mexican spirit.
In line with the brand’s guest-centric approach of redefining the all-inclusive concept with unexpected amenities and attractions, Nizuc will now feature an authentic Irish bar known simply as, “The Pub.” Expected for completion early this year, the sprawling watering hole will offer a stark departure to the resort’s Cancun setting. Offering vintage aesthetics and mahogany fixtures, the new tavern will provide guests with a mouthwatering bar menu complimented by top shelf libations and ales. The ideal locale for watching the big game with a large group or enjoying a Guinness solo, “The Pub” is just one of the new amenities Nizuc has to offer.
In addition to a brand new mini-golf course, Nizuc now features a new kids club, “The Playroom.” Sure to delight the resort’s tiny guests, “The Playroom” is complete with 11 different game rooms, a beauty salon, mini runway, dollhouse, full kitchen and creativity area. “The Playroom” also boasts an Xbox room, an area with “ezy rollers” and an arcade zone. The new kids club also comes complete with a theatre with plush seating and concessions, two playgrounds (one inside and one outside), a pirate boat, sandbox and a mini soccer field. All children are always under the careful watch of the property’s helpful staff. Anything and everything a kid can ever desire can be found in “The Playroom.”
The property also recently announced the expansion of Moon Palace’s meetings and events capabilities with the creation of a 140,000 square foot convention center, Moon Palace Arena. Comprised of meeting and exhibition space that blend form and function, the new 22 million dollar venue consists of multi-functional space including eight versatile meeting rooms (approximately 11,000 square feet each) capable of hosting up to 10,000 guests at one time.
Totaling almost 100 million dollars, Moon Palace’s enhancement project began in 2012 with the successful renovation of the property’s Sunrise section and the creation of exciting new amenities and attractions including a FlowRider® Double wave simulator, the resort’s nightclub, Noir, a dolphinarium, WIRED Teen Lounge, refreshed meeting spaces, restaurant upgrades and more.
“As we begin 2014, the Palace Resorts family is eager to enter into Moon Palace’s next chapter and further our brand’s mission of taking our “awe-inclusive” concept to new heights through exciting initiatives and additions including the recent completion of Nizuc’s enhancement project,” said Gibran Chapur, Executive Vice President of Palace Resorts. “Undeniably Cancun’s entertainment destination, Moon Palace is beloved by guests from around the world in large part due to our unprecedented offerings, sensational entertainment and the high quality of our products. We are pleased to continue to raise the bar and redefine the notion of what an all-inclusive experience can and should offer.”
From January 20 to April 30, 2014, Moon Palace will host one of the most sought-after entertainers in the industry, Ryan Oakes, a professional sleight-of-hand artist, magician and mentalist. Lastly, Moon Palace will host performances by the legendary band Chicago February 14 – 15, 2014, and Grammy-Award winning artist, Michael Bolton, March 29-30, 2014.
