MANCHESTER, U.K. (April 1, 2015) — TATOC, The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), has confirmed that Club Olympus in Tenerife has been approved for TATOC resort membership.
Speaking at the recent TATOC conference, the resort’s managing director Tony Rhodes explained the decision: “We have been watching the activities of TATOC closely over the years and have been impressed by what they are doing to support legacy resorts like ours. Having just spoken at the joint TATOC and RDO seminar, applying for membership was the natural next step and we look forward to working with Harry and the team.”
Located in Garden City, the resort has been in operation since 1986 and offers 130-studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom well-equipped apartments. There are also a number of on-site facilities including a fitness centre, two swimming pools, bar, restaurant and clubhouse.
Harry Taylor, TATOC’s executive chairman commented: “I was delighted when Tony agreed to share his experiences of managing a legacy resort at the recent seminar – and even more delighted when he applied for TATOC resort membership. He has a wealth of experience and some great ideas and I am sure we will work well together in the future.”
The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), known as TATOC, was formed 25 years ago and is the only elected consumer association representing the interests of timeshare owners in Europe.
The mission of TATOC is to safeguard and enhance the timeshare holiday experience for existing and prospective users and to be the voice of owners.
In recent years, TATOC has focused not only on increasing the membership base but also raising the profile of the association, establishing TATOC as the recognised voice of the timeshare consumer and an informed point of contact.
The not-for-profit association is now a regular, unbiased contributor to the consumer press and works closely with the U.K.’s Trading Standards offices, law enforcement, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, the CMA (formerly the OFT) and other authorities.
TATOC CEO Harry Taylor is regularly interviewed on national radio and features in the industry press.
