The resort has achieved RCI Gold Crown status.
Explaining the resort’s application for membership, Kevin McAlpine, resort director, said: “We see great value in being part of TATOC as we wish to ensure that we add value and reassurance to our time owners. With the challenges facing many timeshare resorts we wish to adopt best practice from the industry’s leading body and the valued advice to date tells me we should have adopted membership sooner, but so delighted to have our membership accepted.
Harry Taylor, TATOC’s executive chairman commented: “We have been in contact with the team at St Mellion for some time and a member of the committee attended the first TATOC and RDO seminar. I am delighted that over the months they have seen the value in TATOC resort membership and we look forward to working with them.”
The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), known as TATOC, was formed over 25 years ago and is the only elected consumer association representing the interests of timeshare owners in Europe.
The mission of TATOC is to safeguard and enhance the timeshare holiday experience for existing and prospective users and to be the voice of owners.
In recent years, TATOC has focused not only on increasing the membership base but also raising the profile of the association, establishing TATOC as the recognised voice of the timeshare consumer and an informed point of contact.
The not-for-profit association is now a regular, unbiased contributor to the consumer press and works closely with the U.K.’s Trading Standards offices, law enforcement, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, the CMA (formerly the OFT) and other authorities.
TATOC CEO Harry Taylor is regularly interviewed on national radio and features in the industry press.
