ORLANDO, FLA. (June 24, 2016) — Holiday Inn Club Vacations® recently donated $100,000 to Give Kids The World® Village in Kissimmee, Florida as part of its $500,000 commitment to help fund the 53,000-square-foot Towne Hall building that was completed in 2015. The funds are part of a multi-year commitment by the company to support the 79-acre nonprofit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations and Holiday Inn Hotels founder Kemmons Wilson share a long history with Give Kids The World founder Henri Landwirth that dates back to the opening of the Village in 1989. Kemmons Wilson and Holiday Inn Hotels were among the first to provide financial support to help build the Village; originally named Holiday Inn’s Kids Village.
“Our entire Holiday Inn Club Vacations team is very proud to support the legacy of our founder, Kemmons Wilson, and his passion for giving back to the communities we serve,” said Don Harrill, CEO of Orange Lake Holdings. “Give Kids The World holds a special place close to the heart of our organization. It continues a remarkable legacy of caring that makes a big impact on the lives of many wonderful children and their families.”
The Towne Hall building has quickly become a favorite spot at the whimsical Village, hosting parties and serving meals to visiting families.
Pamela Landwirth, president and CEO of Give Kids The World Village, said “Holiday Inn Club Vacations and the Wilson family have been treasured partners of Give Kids The World from the very beginning. Three decades ago, when we welcomed our first guests, they embraced our mission to create the happiness that inspires hope for the precious children and families we serve. On behalf of those families, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for this wonderful gift.”
