ORLANDO, FL (February 21, 2017) — The Perspective Magazine Awards are considered to be one of the highest accolades in the timeshare industry and was launched in 2011 as the only global recognition program of its kind. This year marked the 7th Annual Award Ceremony and was presented at the GNEX Conference in San Francisco on February 1st, 2017.
Winners were decided by a format unique to the one of a kind awards, with four anonymous veteran industry judges and an online voting portal where industry professionals had their opportunity to influence the outcome, sharing their nominations via marketing material, company websites, and social media. Each individual judge’s vote counted for 20 percent of the outcome, with online voting accounting for the remaining 20 percent of the score.
RTX Traveler was formed to offer regular communications to members in the form of a high-quality magazine designed to appeal to timeshare vacationers’ aesthetic, with useful and relevant content that not only inspires them to plan vacation and travel with RTX as well as to provide valuable education and updates about their membership.
Traveler helps members better understand how to use their membership and reminds them of the fantastic benefits RTX offers. Several pages and sections focus specifically on member benefits including reminders about deadlines and reservation windows, information about different levels of membership, and details on how to utilize benefits beyond exchange such as booking hotel stays, car rentals and cruises.
The magazine features destinations where RTX members can vacation by exchanging their vacation ownership or booking getaways or extra vacations with their membership. Each issue features one popular exchange destination, highlighting attractions, activities, tours, restaurants, insiders’ tips and more.
The RTX Communications team expanded in 2016 and the addition of new talent has enhanced the magazine’s quality of content and design. Sara Little, the magazine’s editor, oversees the creative direction and production of the magazine. Pat Barcas is the primary writer for the magazine, and Pat travels to the destinations featured in the magazine to research and write articles and plan the best way to present the destination to RTX members. Pat is also a skilled photographer and his original photos are featured throughout the magazine. Lara Poll was recently added to the team as a graphic designer, and her skill and fresh perspective positions the publication for even more improvements in 2017.
Throughout the editing and production process of each issue, the Traveler team consults with the leadership at RTX as well as the Travel Consultants who interact with members daily to help shape the content of the magazine to best serve the RTX members. The company also works with its exchange coordinators to highlight destinations available for exchange, getaways and hotel rentals through RTX.
RTX Traveler is also useful to the Resort Partnerships team. When seeking partners in resorts, management companies, and HOAs, RTX Traveler is not only an example of a benefit their members and owners will receive but is also a way RTX can highlight preferred resorts and affiliates.
RTX Traveler promotes the RTX brand and supports the sales and marketing message for potential members. The affiliated sales centers use the magazine as the primary tool for promoting RTX when selling affiliated vacation club memberships. Each issue includes pages that specifically highlight RTX’s different levels of memberships and their benefits.
