yndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket has been honoured with an exceptional award presented by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in Thailand on December 1, 2017.
The resort received the Outstanding Employment Support for Persons with Disabilities Award. This accolade recognises hotels and resorts that provide work opportunities and protect the rights of people with disabilities.
Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket was among the 64 hospitality businesses in Phuket that was recognised for this community initiative.
“We are proud to accept this recognition that further strengthens our commitment to forge a culture where people with disabilities are accepted and offered with equal opportunities within the local workforce,” said Scott Walton, General Manager of Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket.
“As part of a global hospitality company, we strive to be leaders in driving socially responsible initiatives and creating a fair working environment for all. Despite their disabilities, our staff members have proven to be invaluable assets to our resort and each have a part to play in creating exceptional experiences for our guests,” he added.
Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket has employed people with disabilities since 2013. Currently, the resort employs four staff members with either physical or visual impairments – one from Human Resources department and three from Housekeeping and Food and Beverage departments.
